Child360 received a $25,000 grant from the S. Mark Taper Foundation to further enhance its online learning platform for early educators: Child360 Learning. The Taper Foundation’s grant will develop additional online courses and translate those courses into multiple languages, dramatically reaching more early educators who want to elevate the quality of care they provide. Online learning is a new concept in the early learning space, and through this grant, Child360 is making professional development for educators more accessible and a place where they can find connection no matter their schedule.
Child360 Learning offers professional development opportunities that focus on emerging trends and esteemed curriculum approaches, such as trauma-informed care, behavior management, and STEAM. Lack of time, physical space and finances are consistently hindrances for educators who want to advance their career and refine their classroom skills, and Child360 Learning eases these obstacles.
“We are grateful to the S. Mark Taper Foundation for their generous support to advance this critical online resource,” said William Sterling, CEO, Child360. “High-quality early learning starts with high-quality professional development. And every early learning educator should have access to such resources. This grant does exactly that—we’re bringing first-rate professional development into the comfort of your own home, at your own pace, in your native language; with access to relevant courses, proven teaching strategies, and opportunities to connect with peers and mentors.”
Additionally, the grant will be used for in-person orientations to help early educators maximize their understanding on how best to use Child360 Learning. The grant allows for up to 100 early educators in California to receive this support.
Child360’s online platform was developed in November 2018 thanks, in part, to a grant from the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation to develop the online training system.
