Child360 stands in solidarity with our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. We stand with our staff members and their loved ones—as well as the children, families, and providers whom we serve—during this period of increased violence against women, elders, immigrants and all other members of the AAPI community.
We want to acknowledge and honor the six Asian-American women whose lives were taken earlier this week at the hands of white supremacist culture embedded in our nation. This was not an isolated event. The harmful combination of xenophobic messages and the misinformation around the COVID-19 pandemic have contributed to incidents of racism, violence and hate acts against Asian-Americans. Just a few days ago, the nonprofit Stop AAPI Hate released some harrowing data from their Hate Reporting Center. The nonprofit reports 3,795 hate incidents, including verbal and online harassment as well as physical attacks and workplace discrimination, against AAPI community members between March 19, 2020 through February 28, 2021.
Child360 denounces this hate and injustice and will continue to provide a welcoming and inclusive work environment that celebrates and supports all of our staff members from all backgrounds. We hope that you will reach out to offer support to one another during this time.
