Child360’s Research & Evaluation department was created when the organization (then known as LAUP) was founded in 2004. The R&E department was charged with developing internal checks to monitor the nonprofit’s functioning, tracking progress toward goals, analyzing data on the effectiveness of the system, and reporting to the public on its progress.
Today, R&E continues to support other Child360 departments by collecting data on existing initiatives, helping to develop new programs, and providing recommendations for future practice. Research & Evaluation, like the rest of the organization, is invested in advancing both practice and policy. Researchers have presented Child360’s work at national conferences and have helped build organizational partnerships to achieve long-term goals for early education. Dr. Rosa Valdés has been the Director of Research & Evaluation since January of 2012.
